The melting process used by MARVIC is sand casting, that consists in pouring melted metal into an earth cavity. This process is widely used for small production series and for prototypes. In the past, this kind of castings had a rough surface, similar to an orange skin, but MARVIC has developed increasingly sophisticated production processes that use sand castings with smooth and compact surfaces, that look like pressure die-castings.
